Did you know Steinsvik has delivered 260 feeding barges?

If they are stacked on top of each other, you would get a tower 1512 m higher than Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. The first feeding barges were delivered back in the 90s. We were not Steinsvik then, but we have the experience of that and the next 260 barges with us today. Along the way we have had names like Arena, ARE, Ocea, and Orbit GMT. We are now gathered in Steinsvik. Our experience and local presence along the Norwegian coast makes us a preferred supplier of feeding barges.

Half of these sites are in Norway, the rest is spread over 5 continents and 9 different countries. 65 different companies use the software, and these vary from some of the biggest to some of the smallest salmon producers. Mercatus started as a separate company 15 years ago, and has been run by Ocea, and now Steinsvik.

In the Mercatus apps you plan, control, and evaluate the production of farmed fish. Mercatus combines know-how and experience in both fish farming and IT. As a Mercatus customer you have the best possible tool for planning, and control of both biology and economy and access to highly qualified personnel at any time. Bergen is probably the salmon capital of the word. Did you know that 1 500 000 tons of feed pass through our feeding systems each year?

This is twice the yearly amount of all meat produced in Norway. We think this is quite impressive. Fish farming is one of Norway's most important industries and a key element to feeding our world. We are proud to have been a part of it since the 1980's. You might know us as Ocea or Orbit GMT. Together, we are Steinsvik.

Did you know that our valves have a life expectancy of 25 years in the ocean?

That is a long time, especially in one of the toughest environments we find on our planet. Both the valves and the internal components are machined, assembled and pressure tested by Steinsvik. The valves have metal-to-metal seals and the valve operation mechanism is integrated and part of the valve body, which makes these valves extremely durable and some of the best on the marked. Since the first valve delivery in 1997, we have been a leading supplier and manufacturer of subsea needle valves.

Whether the product is placed on land or sea, we pride ourselves in making solid and durable products that our customers can trust. Therefore, we are a reliable and preferred supplier to aquaculture, maritime industries and the oil and gas industry.
