CEO and owner of Steinsvik Group, Bjørn M. Apeland was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2013.
Bjørn M. Apeland in Steinsvik Group has been named Entrepreneur of the Year in the southwest of Norway. Apeland is the principal owner and CEO of Steinsvik Group. At an event in Stavanger on Thursday night Apeland was declared the winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 competition in southwestern Norway. EY stands for Ernst & Young and organizes these regional competitions worldwide. 454 companies had qualified in the southwestern region of Norway.
– This was very surprising and gratifying, says Apeland after the ceremony.
Apeland proceed to the national finals, where the winner will be announced 2 December. The winner will represent Norway in Monaco this spring. The jury justifies the award of Apeland this way: “Apeland has shown tremendous creativity as well as his ability to turn ideas into innovative and profitable products. He also through building strategic alliances, created an innovative business that competes internationally. The company has set new standards for the future, and through investments at home and abroad are well positioned for further growth”.
To be named EY Entrepreneur of the Year, one must have entrepreneurial spirit, ability to innovate, international standards and personal integrity and influence. Moreover, he must have ownership and have a leading position in a company that has achieved good financial results and significant growth in revenue and jobs.
