Steinsvik expandsPublished: 13.08.2015

Steinsvik is growing and the demand for Steinsvik products is high. As a result of this, Steinsvik expands its production facilities in Vietnam with 8400 m2. At the same time it will be invested in new machinery and equipment. Steinsvik's Vietnam factory of 5000 m2 in was finished in October 2013. The factory produces more and more of Steinsvik's product range and is now delivering entire project deliveries directly to customers worldwide.

– We see that the investment in Vietnam has worked out well. We were at a crossroads a few years back when we were forced to increase capacity. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to meet the high demand from our customers. Vietnam was selected, which was cost-justifiable. Also, Asia is an important focus area for Steinsvik, says the CEO of Steinsvik Group, Bjørn M. Apeland. We see a sharp decline in the oil, gas and maritime sectors now, but in fish farming, where we have large exposure, the growth is strong and the signals from the authorities and our customers indicates that we have to prepare for even higher activity ahead. We also know that oil, gas and maritime activities will pick up again, Bjørn elaborates.

The expansion also allows Steinsvik to respond faster on service and maintenance, development and prototype production because of freed resources in Norway that would normally be used on serial production.

– Our customer base is growing and requires a lot. Our ambition is to be the best at what we do and have the best equipment. Simultaneously we need to be able to turn fast to help our customers with new solutions and work on our own ideas with the capacity we have. Steinsvik is in a unique position because our organization is working with demanding customers in two different markets. This means that we constantly exploit the potential for synergy which will benefit our customers, concludes Bjørn.

The expansion in Vietnam will be completed in March 2016 and Steinsvik invites authorities, customers and partners to an official inauguration. The event will run for several days and there will also be a mini exhibition which will show the latest of what Steinsvik has to offer.
